About us

Our history

Brandy Kimbrel is the Founder of Felons Do It Better (FDIB) & Midwest Tax Associates (MWTA). Brandy’s passion and where she is most impactful is combating criminal justice reform and assisting those striving to reintegrate themselves into their respective communities.

Entering the criminal justice system at a young age and having a checkered background, Brandy experienced situations where she did not always have a second chance. She is fueled to contribute chances, resources, and alternatives that are not easily obtainable. Brandy paved her way by being justice impacted, she overcame obstacles and became self taught and never gave up.

Brandy is now in a space where she can do what she loves and allow duplication of what she has learned. Her mission is to provide needed resources on a higher scale to formerly incarcerated and justice-impacted people. She is honored to contribute her skills to whomever may need them.

About us

Our mission

POWER

Within this community, we need to recognize the power that we have as a body, and returning to these communities. Power in a simple term, is the collection of work, experience and knowledge applied through time. In doing time for whatever the case was, and coming out to be in the community, we still have power. Along with that power, we need to harness the effectiveness of it and apply it to the goals that will let us excel in our new chapter of our lives.

PURPOSE

FDIB strives to bring clarity and definition to our community about their individual purpose. Having self-determination will definitively let your purpose stand out to not only yourself, but as well as others. Having purpose will also accelerate a direction, and increase the drive to succeed.

PASSION

One’s passion is that selfless act that brings their purpose in focus and they can apply their power to utilize the action of their passion. We here at FDIB have that type of passion. We are passionate about our experiences, which in it’s one act, does not define who we are, however, learning from that, allows us to recognize our true purpose, which is our passion.
